FEATURES
EWeatherMail has many special features that make it easy to use and flexible for your station:
- Same day setup for any Radio or TV station in the continental US, Alaska, or Hawaii (time permitting)
We only need an approved company purchase order or a credit card to get started. Once billing is setup you can then access our automated signup page to choose what bulletins you want, the counties in your ADI you want to cover, and even what times and days of the week you want the bulletins to be active. You'll also need to give us an email account for your station to use as a "master control" for the service. Once you complete the signup, it takes about six hours to prepare your account, and email will automatically begin flowing to your subscribers.
- We help you setup your web site to work with EWeatherMail by offering simple HTML "plug ins" to make your web site ready to accept subscribers
If you do have a web site, we do offer web page "plug -ins" to allow your viewers to signup for your custom EWeatherMail service, but it is not required that you use these. You can use any type of web signup method that your webmaster prefers. Our EWeatherMail List server uses standard POP3 and SMTP protocols to handle subscription, distribution and unsubcription requests.
EWeatherMail is compatible with all web servers and email systems.
- You can choose what information or forecasts are sent to your subscribers. Many different options are available to customize the EWeatherMail service to your needs
EWeatherMail has many different modules that can be added to give your custom presentation the best fit for your area, your on-air look, and your mission. Here are a few:
- Current Weather data in text, dial/gage or graph/chart format.
- Sky condition icons that can be customized to match those used on you 5-Day forecast in your on-air weather presentation.
- Short term and long term extended forecasts.
- Almanac features such as moon phase, sunsrise/sunset times
- Climatological data such as record hi/lo for this dates
- Insertion of your own or web resource doppler radar images
- Insertion of your own sky-cam images
- Insertion of web links back to your stations website or sponsor website
- Insertion of sponsor graphics or banner advertising with link-backs to sponsors web sites.
- Coupons for sponsors can be included for subscribers to print and bring in for special offers or sales
- Optional remote controlled "approval" of each mailing by your meteorologist
- Database of all subscribers is available to you for use in your own promotions
- Each EWeatherMail sent can have your station
call letters, logo, promotional message, or sponsor added to the message.
Anything (graphics, pictures, text, video, sound, links) that you have on your web site now can be automatically included in each EWeatherMail mailing. We can also have non-changing items included as part of a template. The process is fully automatic, and does not require any work or support on your part.
- Each account has its own "distribution account" which allows your station to send its own bulletins or promotional messages.
This is a secure protected account that will enable your meteorologist or promotions manager etc. to send a custom email message to all subscribers on your list in your DMA. To make this work you need only to send an email to a special hidden location on our server (not available to the public) with the message originating from a certain location in your network. Our powerful email security system will filter and check your mail to be sure it is valid, and will only pass email that meets the three levels of security criteria set for your account. This is to ensure that your subscribers don't get any "Spam" or other unwanted (and potentially embarrassing) email from the service.
- Other email subscriber lists can be created for your station such as news, program info, sports scores, etc.
We can easily add other accounts covering a variety of special needs for your station ( a nominal extra charge applies).
- Supports multi-state or multi-market DMA's
The system is very flexible. Take the Cincinnati Ohio market for example. Iit covers three states, Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio. The system is easily configurable to deliver EWeatherMails covering counties in all three states, or if you want to have a separate account for each state, we can do that too. That way, people in your coverage area won't get forecasts from another state even though they may only live a few miles from the state line.
- Fully automated- no management on your part required whatsoever.
There really is nothing you need to do other than monitor the service with your email account.
- Secure- multilevel protection against SPAM, hackers, and false bulletins
We have three levels of security to prevent SPAM, hackers, and false bulletins from reaching your subscribers. Plus we have an un-interrupptable power supply for all of our systems, a natural gas powered backup generator in case the UPS runs out, and a backup internet connection.
- Fast- can handle up to a million subscribers per hour
Full T-1 speed, with bandwidth enhancements up to T-3 as our subscriber base grows. Our Email server is capable now of delivering up to a million emails per hour, it can grow to up to 30 million. For larger account needs, we can place dedicated email servers in our facility or at your city. Our system is fully scalable on a local or national level and as demand increases so will our bandwidth and systems.
